This Day

I'm not going to be posting much in the way of content tonight.  I've been in a pretty lousy mood today and that doesn't cater to creativity.  Hopefully I shake it off by morning.  I'm not the type of person that's prone to lousy moods, although I do have one hell of a resting bitch face if I do say so myself.  Basically everything about my day irked me in one way or another.  Everyone has those days where literally nothing seems to go the way it should, where you're constantly being bombarded by stupid shit.  Even the customers at work were brutal today for clearly no valid reason.  But, it's over, I won't take it personally, and tomorrow is a new day.  In the meantime, here's a little fun from my all time favorite comedian and the penultimate master of language-- George Carlin.  Incidentally, I did have the opportunity to see him live three times.  He's been gone too long...

A Thought

Simple people see things in simple ways with simple solutions. Complex people see things in complex ways and with complex solutions. Neither are inherently wrong or right. They just are.

My Own Mind

The human mind is a duality.  That is to say, there are two people inside most people's heads.  It is the interaction of these two entities that determines who you are.   The first is the sum total of all of your experiences, it is a body of knowledge that you reflect on when thinking or meditating.  It is not the consciousness that we traditionally think of as our mind.  It's behind that.  It's the voice that alters your mood, makes irrational fears float to the surface in times of stress, and ultimately has a significant impact on you as a person.   The second is your consciousness.  It is the core of you as a person.  It is the voice you hear in your head when thinking or reading this sentence.  Some do not have that voice, incidentally.  For instance, those that are born deaf often have that "voice" represent as images.  Others simply don't have it.  This voice is the real you.  It's the part that you in...

My Favorite / My Least Favorite

My favorite color is green because it is the color of new life. I enjoy food, granted I used to enjoy a greater variety, nevertheless it is one of my favorite things. Bad food is the sign of a bad day. So, DC food... Haha! I love music. But not all music. Primarily rock, classic hard rock, and classic metal. Of course, there are exceptions. My favorite song/performance of all time is Queen's "Somebody to Love" from On Fire Live at the Bowl (1982). It's just a profound performance and an even more phenomenal back story. I've pasted a copy of it below. Feeling is what matters to me in music. It's hard to explain but the song, performance, or artist has to have feeling. It has to embrace you. You have to be able to sink into it. It has to make your skin crawl. It has to be almost sexual. That kind of connection. A primitive, almost supranatural closeness. My favorite TV show is The Simpsons singularly because of the inclusivity and profoundly lib...
