Everything you Needed to Know About Truth... The Short Vers.

Well I was going to write a long diatribe about what truth is, but I've decided to keep it short. Why? Because I'm on a bit of a sugar rush right now and coupled with a lack of sleep, I am having trouble concentrating for long periods of time. There are two truths. Absolute truth and local truth. The first can differ greatly from the second. But the second will eventually be replaced by the first. Absolute truth is an unbiased account of events, taking into account into all sides. Local truth is the truth of the moment. This is very common in politics. Each side of an argument gives "truths" to bolster their argument and both cannot be correct when they conflict. Truth has nothing to do with the beliefs of the person(s) in a power position. This is a common misconception. Why? Because if you can discern that the person(s) in power have certain beliefs, it means that you either disagree or know of another that disagrees. Either way, someone not in power, o...

Another Year Passed

I shall rain hellfire on my enemies, acid their skin and boil their blood. I will scorch the earth and destroy man's inclinations. Creators of social norm and dictators of progress, you are a pall on the human race. We are all worthy of respect. We are all worthy of acceptance. We are all man, one and the same. Upon this eve as I pack up and move on, and leave behind a year's worth of life, I can't help but see how you've changed me. Time you are a foolish old man who's lost track of himself. You are bane to my existence. And yet we continue onwards in a marriage of temporal irregularity, never ceasing, never returning, always moving on. Mystery of the unknown, you mock me. Your affixed hand clutching at the contents of my brain, stewing about in my thoughts and running amok with my life. It's time to go and I'm not willing. But as time permits I say good-bye, as tradition dictates, it will be solemn and dignified, and as the shroud of what's to come con...

Upcoming Blogs

Well, I've been really busy lately, so here's a list of ideas I have floating around. Basically I'm trying to relieve the pressure in my brain by writing it down. If I get to them soon, it won't be until next week. No guarantees. *********************************** Miracles require the suspension of natural laws. Malificum - harm by spiritual means. **What is truth? **What happens after you die? Jewish thought vs. Papal authority, (oral tradition). Model minority v. perpetual foreigner *Ideal World Order- Where are we going? "Blanking" American- Titles and their progression Socio -Econ-driven Judiciary, unbiased? Open country? -xenophobia, NIMBY Immigrant Assimilation? **Man's two base fears- loss of uniqueness, loss of spirituality -Computer technology (Vote?) *Digital voter fraud? Rally for Paper ballots. ***************************************** Now you see that I'm not just lazy. I'm just too busy. I'll see what I can get back t...

A Note On My Atheism

In the past, I've been asked about being atheist and a bunch of other awkward questions somehow or another rotating around the issue. The mere question puts me in an uncomfortable quandry as no one who beleives as I do would ask such a question. So, I know from the outset that I am going to have to prove myself, to validate my opinion somehow. While surfing the Internet today I found a quotation by English comedian and commentator Stephen Fry that I think will suffice... "I am a lover of truth, a worshipper of freedom, a celebrant at the altar of language and purity and tolerance. That is my religion, and every day I am sorely, grossly, heinously and deeply offended, wounded, mortified and injured by a thousand different blasphemies against it. When the fundamental canons of truth, honesty, compassion and decency are hourly assaulted by fatuous bishops, pompous, illiberal and ignorant priests, politicians and prelates , sanctimonious censors, self-appointed moralists and b...

Let the People Vote, A Vote on Marriage? (Revised)

There is one issue I'd like to comment on, one that has a special place in the hearts and minds of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: The new mantra of the neo-conservative minority: "Let the people vote." A noble idea. Let us let all the people vote. Why not? It's what the people want isn't it? Right? It's democracy after all? Is it not? Of course, in truth, by "the people" they (the neo-conservative think-tank) mean those who have their beliefs should vote. Not me. I might as well stay home. They don't want my vote on marriage. But they will get it, you be sure of that. I will gladly nullify one of their votes with mine. When it comes right down to it, we should not vote. None of us. This vote should not take place. Not now. Not ever. Why? Because it is a slippery slope when we play god with the rights of man. Let's take a practical approach.... If we vote and this amendment (limiting marriage to one man and one woman) is passed who benefi...

Authenticity and the Racial Gap and Their Roles in Society

"Racial authenticity is typically understood to be the idea that individuals have some moral or political imperative to behave in conformation with some racial ideal or standard. This dominant view of authenticity is unquestionably essentialist. If there are racial essences, then racial authenticity demands that one behave in conformity with their particular racial essence. Racial inauthenticity , in this view, is the intentional or unintentional failure to behave in conformity with that racial essence. Thus, there are "real" blacks, whites, Asians, Latinos, and so on, and then there are Uncle Toms, sell-outs, and race-traitors" ( Monahan , 38-39). In every society people are stereotyped into groups based on specific characteristics such as the color of their skin, their nationality, or their religion, to name a few. These stereotypes are based around a central root of racism, classism , or whichever other -ism is applicable in that particular instance. In the Unite...

I would like to, for a brief moment, talk logically about the act of abortion. Do we mass exterminate billions of insects and vermin with vicious poisons? Do we kill millions of cows and chickens a year for food? Have hundreds of thousands of people not been killed in Darfur and the Congo? Have 64.000 people not died as a result of our actions in Iraq? Does the United States not kill hundreds of people a year under the premise of "capital punishment" even if any number of them are innocent? Don't we kill a whole lot of things? But not the children. Oh hell no not the children! But, wait, wait, there are millions of starving children in this country and billions more across the globe. Aren't we, by not helping them, also killing them indirectly just as laws allowing abortion are allowing fetuses to be killed? It's all semantics isn't it. We don't REALLY mind killing each other so long as we can justify or ignore it. So what are a few more. Serious...
