It's That Time of Year Again

So, it's that time of year again, and no I don't mean Christmas. It's the other one. You know, the only other time of the year that you go to Church. Like I'm one to talk about organized religion. But, at least I'm consistent. You in your divine wisdom decide around this time of year that, apparently, your yearly Church-going quota hasn't been filled yet. So you all panic and rush out to the nearest church and get really religious for the next two weeks. The way I see it, if you people are going to be religious at least be a little more through about it. If you want to take that path stop doing it so half-assed. Then again, who am I to tell you what to do. I'm just pointing out a double standard. What gives you people the right to tell me that I'm wrong just because you're a CAPE Catholic or something. (Christmas, Advent, Pentecost, and Easter.) Am I supposed to be impressed? Stupified?

Not just religiously speaking, I think that it's best to try and give something your full attention. I mean, I don't just don't go to church most of the time; I don't go any of the time. I know where I stand. Apparently some of you are confused. I know that sometimes other things come up. But, laziness is not an excuse for anything. So whatever you're beliefs, figure them out and figure them out good. Don't waver, stand firm on what you believe and don't take nothing from anyone about it. You'll feel better about yourself if you do.

Our Life

Love is an issue for the heart,
not politics, not politicians.
It doesn't discriminate.
It is a chemical reaction,
that we in our higher brains have discriminated against.
We restrict ourselves.
We restrain our impulses because we fear them.
For 100,000 years we evolved to become what we are today.
Yet in all that time,
or because of it,
we have forgotten who we were.
In an attempt to become more evolved,
we have forsaken our own primal urges.
We have been tamed.
We are no longer nature,
we are above it,
we control it.
Every day that we embrace the antithesis of our roots
we become more a slave to ourselves.
We err, we suffer, we die,
all an effort to preserve a self-manufactured,
self-fabricated existence where we remove pain,
we remove suffering.
We are robots.
We have removed pain
and in doing so we remove happiness.
We are mellow;
we feel naught.
We are not,
nor will we ever be,
in this form,
complete.
We have become slaves to the anti-impulsatory society
that we formed to shield ourselves from pain.
We shroud our lives with fallacies
like freedom, like patriotism, like morals.
These things do not exist,
they do not have one distinct definition
they mean different things to different people.
The prior were created as a form of control.
They are used today to dupe the masses into complacency.
They limit us.
After all, what is freedom?
Is is tangible or a concept created by our founders to get people to follow them?
What is patriotism?
Is is concrete, does it mean pride in one's country or the ideals it stands (stood) for?
Then what are morals?
They're different for everyone.
But there is some overlap,
some generally accepted terms through which we've created a system of laws to govern society.
But, there are disagreements,
there always have been,
and there always will be.
But in this infighting we are missing the point.
Advancement!
When we fight nothing gets accomplished,
problems are not fixed.
We dig in and polarize to protect ourselves.
But why?
Why?
Because there are those who don't want to change the system,
those that are in charge,
those that have power,
those who are at risk for losing anything at all.
They have the will and the resources to stop us.
That is why we have to fight.
That is why we have a voice.
To fight.
Not with guns or fists,
but with our tongues.
Speech and fluency are the weapons of the masses,
and they are more potent than WMD's or biological warfare.
They are forked tongue of Satan and the tremors of Thor and the word of God.
Speech cannot be stopped;
it cannot be muted.
It is omnipresent and omnipotent.
Even from the most oppressive of conditions man has rose up,
the tread on fight back
and lose the shackles of their own restraint.
The success of the human race rests on the silver tongue of each man and woman.
I stir the pot,
and in time it's liquid churns.
I am the device by which society will progress.
I am man,
I am woman,
I am black,
am white,
am young,
am old,
intelligent,
shy,
pain,
fear,
happiness,
joy,
progress.
I am the epitome of 100,000 years of evolution
and the cornerstone of the next 100,000 years of progress.
From this point I stand and call on you,
young and old,
happy and sad,
white, black and just.
I call out to you combined with me your will
your desires,
your beliefs and fears.
For together, there is no obstacle in our path,
no roadblock to our futures,
we are the FUTURE.
And as our force breaks the horizontal plane,
let it be our light that guides the world.

Ding Dong the Hammer is Dead!

Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff. Mark that as two down and more to come. Isn't it just great when people begin to realize the problem with the Repubican Party. They have no morals. Well, actually that's wrong. They believe that they are moral and I do too. They are moral when talking about personal decisions: religion, gay marriage, tax breaks, etc. They look at the personal affects of such decisions in their light (not in other's though) and in doing so ignore that their economic policies have and are destroying our job market (outsourcing, etc. You'll probably mention that Clinton signed the NAFTA and WTO agreements, yet what has Bush done to repeal them when it was found that they most certainly hurt us in the long run?), repealing our freedoms, and making a fool of us on the world stage.

Republicans believe in serving persons first and others second. They give contracts to companies whose former CEO is our VP. He profits from this through his large stock holdings in the company. Morally, they believe that gay marriage is wrong because their religion tells them so. In acting on this, they rob others of the right to their own non/religious beliefs. They benefit the most from tax cuts and tell us that if they benefit then we will benefit in turn. Wrong. Since when have we benefited from others being rich?

Ask the French. They'll tell you. At least they have the guts to stand up for what they believe in. What the hell happened to us? It's time we stand up for what we believe in. Now, not in '08, too much damage is occurring now. We need to cut off the head and the body will fall. Let's get started. I'll be waiting for you.
